Welcome to True North, a new community dedicated to the passionate, loyal collective that is Mariners fans. Baseball has been entrenched in the Pacific Northwest for well over a century. It’s as much a part of our identity as rain, coffee, and well-worn flannel. We’re here to build on that heritage, while enjoying this unprecedentedly promising era in Seattle baseball. World Series here we come. True North will bring you closer to the Mariners throughout the season with unique, meaningful content. Our goal is to create an inclusive environment for M’s fans to gather – a place to pass around and share our baseball joy like its dessert. We hope you’ll be part of the adventure.
Lydia is a Seattle native who fell in love with baseball playing on Queen Anne ballfields and back alleys. After many summers spent listening to Dave Niehaus bring Mariners games to life, she got her first job in radio at 23. With more than a decade of experience in the industry, including three years of hosting her own Seattle sports radio show, Lydia is passionate about bringing great stories to life.
Lydia is a new addition to the Simply Seattle team, and is excited to help forge new connections between fans and their favorite teams. In her spare time she loves being outdoors, traveling to new places, and scoring baseball games in meticulous fashion. She is also a huge fan of Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball for N64.
